Celebrate Ombre Watercolor Birthday Card

Combine the art of watercolor with papercrafting to create a lovely ombre birthday card.  Take a page from DCWV's Paint & Create Kit, a card base and Glue Dots® new Premium Permanent GlueTape™ to make a sweet ombre birthday card.

Here's what you need:

• Glue Dots® Premium Permanent GlueTape™
• DCWV Paint and Create Watercolor Kit in Guilded Geo
• Blank 5" x 7" card
• Scissors
• Water

Here's what you do:

Use the scissors to remove the “CELEBRATE” piece of card stock from the DCWV Paint and Create Watercolor Kit in Guilded Geo.

Remove the watercolor palette and the paintbrush from the front of the kit.

Add water to the blue paint. The more water that you add, the lighter the blue will be.

Use the paintbrush to lightly go over the “CEL.”

Repeat over the “EBR” with a slightly darker blue.

Repeat again over the “ATE” with the darkest blue.

Let the card stock dry completely.

Apply Permanent Premium GlueTape to the front of the blank 5" x 7" card.

Press the “CELEBRATE” to the Permanent Gluetape to adhere the painted card stock to the front of the card.

If you love the look of watercolor, this is a fun and easy way to create a professional card. Watercolors dry quickly, making this a project that can be completed in 15 minutes. Use the blue shade included in the DCWV Paint and Create Watercolor Kit, using less and less water over each section to create the ombre shades.
