We love how Creative Maker Kim turns pages of DCWV's Birds & Butterflies stack into a birthday card using new Premium GlueTape. She makes it look so easy we can't wait to make this for someone soon!

Time: 25 minutes
Level:
Beginner
Size:
3 7/8 x 9 1.4 inches, approximately

Here's what you need:

Here's what you do:

Cut DCWV Birds & Butterflies and Mint/White flowers paper to 3 7/8" x 9 1/4". Fold in half lengthwise with the pattern on the inside to create the card base. Next, cut the Flowers on White paper to 3/8" x 8 7/8" and the Teal Wood Grain paper to 3 1/8" x 8 1/2" to create your layers. In the DCWV Flipside paper stack, cut the purple/lavender paper to 3 5/8"x 9", ink edges on the darker side with distress ink and set aside to dry. Finally, cut the Bird & Butterflies paper to 3" x 8 3/8" - this will be your top layer.

Tear the background area away from the Bird & Butterflies 3" x 8 3/8" piece of paper. Pull the background toward you to be left with some white area around what is left. You don't have to do this all the way around, notice some is left on the bottom. Also, everyone's will be different and that is OK!

Using the "Happy Birthday" stamp and distress ink, stamp around the front edge of the card base. Set aside to dry.

Layer your papers together using Glue Dots Permanent Premium GlueTape. Starting with the card base, adhere the purple/lavender paper on top of the card base followed by the flower on white paper, and end with the teal wood grain paper.

Stamp "Happy Birthday" with distress ink onto scrap paper from Bird & Butterflies. Trim to 1/4" on all four sides. Tear edges away from the top, right, bottom sides, and some of the left side. Cut a scrap piece of the Mint/White flower paper to 4" x 1 1/8 " to create a trim.  Color the edges with distress ink and let dry.  Once dry, adhere the sentiment to the layers with Permanent Premium GlueTape.

Align the sentiment with left edge of Teal Wood Grain and move down about 1/4" to be consistent with the other layers. When you're happy with the spot, use Pop Up Glue Dots to adhere it to the front of the card.

Align the Birds & Butterflies piece of paper with the bottom of Teal Wood Grain and adhere with Permanent GlueTape. Make sure that you like the placement in relation to the sentiment.

Decorate the inside of the card by cutting the top portion of the Birds & Butterflies page to 3" x 8 3/8". Cut a piece of the purple lavender paper to 3 5/8" x 9" and color the edges of the paper with distress ink on the lighter side.  Take a scrap piece of paper form the Flower on White page and cut to 3 1/4" x 3 3/8".  Fold this in half to 3 1/4" x 1 5/8".

Center and adhere layers with Permanent Premium GlueTape in this order:  Purple/Lavender, Bird & Butterflies, and finally Flowers on White.

Don't forget to Pin it for later!
