Time: 10 minutes
Level: Beginner
Size: approximately 5 x 5.5 inches

Here's what you need:

  • Mini Glue Dots®
  • Glue Lines®
  • Marquee Paper Stack from DCWV
  • Clothes Pin
  • Pipecleaner
  • Two googlie eyes
  • Clear cellophane envelope with self adhesive strip
  • White card stock
  • Twine
  • Jelly beans
  • Fiskars Paper Trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Sizzix tag die
  • Sizzix Big Shot
  • Thick marker

Here's what you do:

Using the paper trimmer, cut a narrow strip of patterned paper from the DCWV paper stack.

Use Glue Lines to adhere the strip to the clothes pin. Trim the paper with scissors. Use Mini Glue Dots to add the butterfly eyes.

Fill the clear envelope about ¾ full with jelly beans. Seal the end. Separate the jelly beans in half down the middle. Use the pipe cleaner to keep the candy separated. Twist the pipe cleaner around the center. Wrap the ends of the pipe cleaner around a thick marker to create a pretty end. Trim as needed with Scissors.

Clip the clothes pin over the center area to finish off the butterfly.  Create a paper tag using a die and Sizzix BigShot. Use a coordinating paper to make a border. Then write a note of thanks to the recipient. Loop the tag into the clothes pin.

As the school year closes, be sure to show your appreciation to all those who have helped your student soar and grow!
