Summer seems to go by faster and faster each year. This year is no exception, and I am already thinking about Back to School. Here's a fun Back to School garland we made by making pencils from paint samples. It's super easy and so fun to make!

Here's what you need:

  • Craft Glue DotsĀ®
  • DCWV Colored Cardstock (pink, grey, and black)
  • Paint samples
  • String or twine
  • Scissors

Here's what you do:

Cut the lighter end of the paint samples to a point.

Cut black triangles and adhere to the point of the pencil with Craft Glue Dots. Cut a grey rectangles and a pink squares and adhere them together with Craft Glue Dots to create the eraser end of each pencil. Then use Craft Glue Dots to adhere the 'eraser' you just made to the end of the paint sample that is still square.

Punch holes on each pencil and thread the twine or string through to hang them up as garland.I love that this is perfect for those Back-to-School and First Day of School pictures that we all love to take. It's also fun to hang up as the end of summer nears and helps get everyone excited to be going Back to School shopping and gearing up for school!
