We're sharing another project from our Birthday Memories Guide with you today! A birthday party wouldn't be complete without a thank you treat bag party favor! Grace shows you how easy it is to make one with patterned paper and Glue Dots!
Don't for the treat bags for the birthday party attendees! Below are instructions on how to make Grace’s birthday party treat bags that was featured in our Handmade Birthday Memories project guide in Hobby Lobby’s Stamping, Stationery and Scrapbooking magazine!
Time: 20 minutes
Level: Intermediate
Designed by: Grace Tolman
Supplies:
Instructions:
- To create the bag, cut a piece of patterned paper measuring 12” x 6” and score the paper (starting from the top) at 2 1/2”, 3 1/2”, 7 1/2”, 8 1/2", and 3/4”.
- Cut out a circle in the center of the paper. Cut a piece of transparency and adhere behind the circle cut out using Mini Glue Dots.
- Assemble the bag using Craft Glue Dots to secure the ends together.
- Use a decorative border punch on the edge on a complementary piece of paper and cut into two strips.
- Using Craft Glue Dots adhere one strip to the top of the bag and adhere the other strip upside down, below the other strip to create one piece of trim with a scallop design on both edges.
- Notch the ends of a piece of ribbon and use Mini Glue Dots to adhere it over the seam of the scalloped trim pieces.
- From cardstock, punch a plain circle that is slightly smaller than a scalloped circle. Layer the two circles together with Craft Glue Dots.
- Place the letter stickers on top, spelling out “Thank You” and adhere the completed circle to the bag with Pop Up Glue Dots.
- Thread twine through one big button and tie into a bow. Adhere to the bottom right corner of the bag along with two more buttons using Mini Glue Dots.
