Here's a project that your kids can make any time of year. Whether it's Valentine's Day, Grandparents Day or the weather is bad outside, this project will add a smile to someone's face.  Designer Grace shows you how to make button art with your kids.

I love how this rainbow canvas art can be displayed throughout the year. It brings so much color to any home décor.

Here's what you need:

Here's what you do:

  1. Place a round or half-moon template in the center of the canvas (I used a circle cutter template).  Adhere the first purple button on the top of the arch of the curved template using a Craft Glue Dots.  Repeat the process until you’ve created an arched line with purple buttons.
  2. Place the next color button on top of the just created purple arch, starting at the center and working your way down on both ends. Adhere the buttons with more Craft Glue Dots.
  3. Repeat the process until you’ve created all lines of the rainbow (red, yellow, orange, green, blue, indigo and purple) *If you don’t have quite the same colors as mine, just try to use hues that are a little bit different from the ones next to it so that there will be a distinction between lines.
  4. Punch out six cloud shapes from the glittered paper using a punch. Adhere three on the left end of the rainbow, attaching them with Pop Up Glue Dots for dimension. Overlap the clouds for a more realistic look. Repeat the process for the right side of the rainbow.
  5. Attach the foam words under the rainbow.
  6. Paint around the rainbow with some baby blue acrylic paint. Set aside to dry before handling.
