I altered a shipping box to create a cute Christmas gift box ready to be filled with homemade goodies to share. Spread the Christmas cheer with this DIY gift box.
Here's what you need:
- Stitch Glue Squares®
- Mini Glue Dots®
- Recycled box
- Pattern papers- Candy Cane Lane, Die Cuts with a View
- Buttons- Craft Supply
- Twine- Red, Doodlebug Design Inc.; Beige/gold, Lawn Fawn
- Ink- Truffle, Mixed Media Inx, Color Box
- Circle punch – (1 1/2”) EK Success
- Border punch- Scallop, Fiskars
- Paper Trimmer
- Craft knife
- Scissors
- Ruler
Here's what you do:
- Measure the outside of the box and cut out the pattern papers according to your measurement. Using new Stitch Glue Squares, adhere the paper onto each side of the box.
- Measure the top of the box and cut out the text paper according to the dimensions. Ink the edges, let dry completely, and adhere to the top of the box using Stitch Glue Squares.
- Add more pattern papers to the top using punches and scissors. Adhere them to the box using Stitch Glue Squares.
- Cut strips of the red “hohoho” paper and adhere all around the bottom of the box using Stitch Glue Squares.
- Cut out a strip of lined black pattern paper and add a scallop edge to one side using the Fiskars punch. Adhere to the top of the box edge using Stitch Glue Squares.
- Grab both twine colors and wrap it around the box. Add one Mini Glue Dots adhesive to the center; tie it once and then tie it onto a bow. Trim the excess and add a button in the center using more Mini Glue Dots.
- Hand cut the tag from pattern paper and adhere just below the twine bow using Stitch Glue Squares.
