Glue Dots Saves A Family Tradition

When Glue Dots' Brand Manager, Lindsay was preparing for her wedding day, her "something old" family tradition needed a little extra holding power.

Since I can remember, every woman in my family has carried a family heirloom coin with her on her wedding day - it's our family tradition.  The coin has been handed down from generation to generation, until it was my turn to carry it down the aisle.  However,  there was a slight problem and I was the first in our family to encounter it.

Throughout the generations the women in my family have traditionally put the coin  in the bottom of their shoe.  Normally, this would not be a problem, but the shoes I wore for my summer wedding were open-toed, the first open-toed shoes to be worn by a bride for her wedding in our family.  I needed a to find a way to keep my summery open-toed wedding shoes and uphold the family tradition.

I had to figure out how to keep the coin in place in the shoe so I wouldn't lose it.  The solution came from Glue Dots.  I stuck a Glue Dot adhesive to the back of the coin and carefully slid it under the designer label on the inside of my shoe.  The coin didn't move or budge once throughout my big day and big night of dancing! It was so subtle, that I didn't even know it was there!

Fast forward 5 years, I get a phone call from my mom asking about the coin.  A moment of panic struck when I couldn't find it. Thankfully, I found my old wedding shoes.  Inside, exactly where I had left it all those years ago, was the coin.

Now we have it in a safe place for when my daughters grow up, so they can carry on our family tradition.
