It's time for a Hip Hop Easter card! We love this one from Designer Grace because we get a song stuck in our head! If you know it, leave a comment at the bottom of our blog post. :-)
Designed by: Grace Tolman
Time: Approximately 45 minutes
Level: Intermediate
Size: 4 ¼" x 5 ½" note cards
3" x 4" pocket scrapbooking cards are great to have around for last minute cards. I used one here to make an Easter card. I also added a design to the solid card base with stencils and ink pads.
Here's what you need:
- Craft Glue Dots®
- Mini Glue Dots®
- Pop Up Glue Dots®
- Pastel Cards, Die Cuts With a View
- Between the Lines Stencil set, DecoArt
- Ink
- Petite Banners Stamp, Inspired By Stamping
- Twine
- Flowers
- Rhinestones
- Cardstock (Mint green, Peach and Pink)
- Patterned paper
- Pocket scrapbooking cards
- Black Pen
- Scallop Circle die cut or punch
- 1 ¾” circle punch
Here's what you do:
- Create the background using the dot stencil and a purple ink pad. Mask about ¼" all around the card to create the frame around the stencil. Peel off the stencil and masking tape and then add pen stitching all around the design. Set aside the dry.
- Add the 3" x 4" floral paper on the right edge of the card, at an angle. Adhere using Craft Glue Dots.
- Add a strip of striped paper over the flower card. Cut the ends into notches and adhere using more Craft Glue Dots.
- Cut the layered frames using mint green cardstock and a 3" x 4" pocket scrapbook card.
- Adhere the mint green piece to the card with Craft Glue Dots.
- Cut a slit on the fold of the card and wrap purple twine around the card front twice. Tie the ends into a bow.
- Add the sentiment frame using Pop Up Glue Dots, centering it over the green frame.
- Add the flower with Mini Glue Dots.
- Finish the card with rhinestones.
