We love front door decorations. They're colorful, bright and are a nice way to greet guests to your home. For Easter, Designer Robyn transformed a plain wood board into a "Hoppy Easter" sign for her front porch sign holder. I love decorating the front of our house with fun little signs. I even have a sign holder next to our front door to hang them on, so I decided to make a new little Easter sign to hang this year. It was super easy and so simple to make and looks so spring like and fun!
Here's what you need:
- Craft Glue Dots®
- Permanent Glue Dots®
- Wood board
- Americana chalkboard paint
- Silk flowers and leaves
- Ribbon or designer tape
- White fabric and pom pom
- Scissors
- Chalkboard markers or chalk
Here's what you do:
- First, paint your wood board with chalkboard paint and let it dry. Note: Chalkboard paint needs time to cure, so make sure you allow for that time.
- While it's drying, gather all of your other materials and start to lay them out to get an idea of how you want them to look on your sign.
- After your paint is completely dry, go ahead and pop the tops off of your silk flower stems and a few leaves as well. Use either Craft or Permanent Glue Dots to adhere them to your sign board.
- If you want to add ribbon or designer tape to throw in a bit more color and texture, do that as well. Use your Glue Dots to adhere the ribbon to your sign.
- Next, I cut out the shape of a bunny from white fuzzy fabric. I added a cute little pom pom for the tail and adhered him with Permanent Glue Dots in between my flowers like he was hiding in the garden. :-)
- The last step is to grab some chalk or chalkboard markers and have fun writing a greeting to your sign. Hang it on your front door or on a sign holder when finished.
I love how fun and festive it looks out there! Have a Hoppy Easter everyone!
