Create an ombre colored cork board to hang jewelry, a favorite photo, concert tickets and more!  Designer Danielle shows you how.

Every dorm room needs a splash of color and a place for special things.  Here's how you can brighten your dorm room with an ombre cork board by transforming old corks (or new ones) into a one-of-kind message board for your space.

**Supplies:**

- [All Purpose Glue Dots®](http://www.gluedots.com/consumer/introducing-all-purpose-adhesive-roll/)
- [Mini Glue Dots®](http://catalog.gluedots.com/item/consumer-products/craft-hobby/item-1001?plpver=1002)
- Square piece of wood 
- Acrylic paint (white, dark blue)
- Paintbrushes
- 16 corks
- Sawtooth picture hanger with nails
- Hammer
- Knife
- Push pins
- Buttons

**Directions:**

1. Attach a picture hanger to back of wood with hammer and nails.
2. Use a sharp knife to cut corks in half. Keep the top half of each wine cork.
3. Adhere All Purpose Glue Dots® to top half of the cut corks and press them firmly to the wood for a secure bond.
4. Apply 2 coats of white acrylic paint over entire project and a third coat to the top row of corks.
5. Mix a little blue acrylic paint with the white and paint the second row of corks.
6. Add additional blue acrylic paint to the mix and apply to the third row of corks.
7. Create a darker blue mix and apply to the fourth row of corks. Set aside to dry.
8. Use Mini Glue Dots® to adhere buttons to each push-pin and press pins into corks to hold keepsakes in place.
