Here's a great spring cleaning idea for your desk!  Upcycle old cans into pen and pencil holders for your desk or work space.  All you need are a few empty cans, patterned paper and Glue Dots.

Here's What you need:

  • Glue Lines®
  • Ultra-Thin Glue Dots®
  • Patterned Paper
  • Empty, cleaned soup cans (with the labels removed)
  • Jute
  • Ruler
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Buttons, lace and other embellishments (optional)

Here's what you do:

  1. Measure your can and cut your paper to size.
  2. Adhere one edge of the paper to the can with Glue Lines. Wrap the paper around the can and use Glue Lines to adhere the second edge to the can.
  3. Using Ultra-Thin Glue Dots, adhere the jute to the can and wrap as much as you'd like around it.  Cut and tie off to your liking.
  4. Add your pencils or scissors to your cans and enjoy!
  5. Optional: Use buttons, lace or ribbon to decorate your cans. Label them if you would like using decorative paper punches.
