Designer Dawn is back on our blog with a DIY bottle cap project that will add a pop of color to refrigerators and lockers!
Supplies:
Save up those bottle caps for a fun way to dress up your office space, locker, or refrigerator door.
- First, hold the used bottle cap with pliers or craft tweezers. Using the heat tool, heat the wax seal on the inside of the bottle cap. As it warms up and starts to melt, use the craft stick to rub off/pull out the waxy layer. Use a paper towel to wipe out any residue.
- Punch a 1" circle out of decorative or stamped paper. Use the Repositionable dispenser to adhere it into the center of the bottle cap. Press firmly down.
- Coat the inside of the bottle cap with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer (or other 3D craft Lacquer). While it is still wet, add small embellishments like sequins or rhinestones or baubles. Allow to dry over night.
- Adhere a 1/2 inch button magnet onto the back of your bottle cap using the Advanced Strength dispenser.
**Tip: Personalize these magnets by adding your monogram or a cut out from a photograph or decal sticker!
