School Supply Gift Ideas

Looking for a quick, last minute teacher appreciation or end-of-year gift idea?  Designer Dawn has a quick and easy way to turn basic school supplies into a cute end-of-year gift for your child's teacher or other important person in their life.

Time: Approximately 10 minutes
Level: Beginner

It's that time of year to show appreciation to teachers and support staff. If your time is busy with soccer, lacrosse, track, drama productions, robotics contests, and everything else in between, here are a few quick and clever ways to say thanks to a teacher. (Remember, middle school and high school teachers and staff would enjoy a little help restocking their supply closets too!)

Here's what you need:Highlighter Gift Idea for Teacher Appreciation

  • Permanent Glue Dots®
  • Removable Glue Dots®
  • White card stock
  • Patterned papers from DCWV (Prism Play) and Basic Grey (Fact)
  • Pens, highlighters, or other school supplies as desired
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities and other die cut shapes
  • Big Shot from Sizzix or other die cutting machine
  • Fine tipped pen

Here's what you do:

  1. Use Spellbinder dies to cut out a variety of shapes from patterned papers and white c  ard stock.
  2. Use Permanent Glue Dots to create a funky tag by overlapping shapes. Leave enough room on your white piece of cardstock to write a "punny" note of thanks using a fine tipped pen.
  3. Adhere the funky tag onto the school supply using Removable Glue Dots.

Below are a few additional ideas for cute, "punny" notes: School Supply Gift Ideas

  • "Thanks for the REMARKABLE YEAR!" (highlighters/markers/dry erase markers)
  • "You colored my world!" (markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc.)
  • "Here's to a clean, new year!" (disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, etc)
  • "You're sharp!" (scissors, pre-sharpened pencils, etc.)
  • "You've got the WRITE stuff!" (pencils, pens, etc.)
  • "You RULE!" (rulers, protractors, compasses, etc.)

What "punny" saying would you write?  Leave a comment below with your ideas! :-)
