The birds are singing, flowers are starting to peek up from the ground, and Grace is sharing her tutorial for a spring home decor accent using a frame from a thrift store.
Time: Approximately 45 minutes
Level: Beginner
Size: 16” x 4 ¾” x ½”
I got a plain wood frame at my local thrift store and covered it with some burlap and paper. Then, I added some dimensional flowers to create my one of a kind Spring home décor accent.
Here's what you need:
Here's what you do:
- Hand cut flowers from the various craft material. Layer three together using Ultra-Thin Glue Dots. Curl the edges of the petal a bit to give it more dimensions. Set aside.
- Measure the inside of the frame. Cut out a piece of multi-dot patterned paper according to size and adhere to the frame using Ultra-Thin Glue Dots.
- Measure the outside of the frame and cut out burlap to match that measurement. Note: Because the frame is longer than the length of my burlap pieces, I turned my burlap into a diamond and cut at the highest point all the way to the bottom to get a desired length to cover the long side of my frame. To make the ends of the strips perfectly match together, cut the ends into a diagonal slant. Adhere the burlap using the Glue Dots Advanced Strength Dispenser.
- Adhere the flowers onto the inside of the frame with Glue Dots Advanced Strength Dispenser.
- Thread some twine through the buttons, tie the ends into a bow and adhere onto the center of the flowers using Pop Up Glue Dots.
We're so happy spring has sprung! What Spring home decor accents do you have around your home?
