Be the Leprechaun that your loved ones are looking for by leaving a sweet treat in a door hanger for St. Patrick's Day. Designer Dawn shows you how.

Time: Approximately 15 minutes

Level: Beginner

Make a cute St. Patrick's Day door hanger for someone who's extra special for St. Patrick's Day.

Here's what you need:

  • Mini Glue Dots®
  • Permanent Glue Dots®
  • 1" Glue Lines®
  • Pop Up Glue Dots®
  • Prism Play Paper Stack by DCWV
  • Cardstock as needed
  • Sequins
  • Seam Binding Ribbon, elastic cording, and other embellishments as needed
  • Candy or other items to fill hanger
  • Lucky To Have You sentiment from Starving Artistamps or another sentiment
  • Fiskars Paper Cutter
  • Scor Pal Score Board
  • Sizzix Big Shot
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities: Scallop and Circles
  • Ruler
  • Oval or tag shaped hand punch

Here's what you need:

  1. Cut a piece of card stock to 11" x 3.25" inches.
  2. Using the Scor Pal Score Board, score your paper at 1", 2", 4", 4.5" across the long edge of the card stock base. Lightly draw a pencil line at 7 3/8 inch mark.
  3. Use a hand punch to punch a hole as shown in the photograph. Remember to chose candy or treats that will fit in this hole.
  4. Fold the first score line in and secure with 1" Glue Lines at the pencil line. Then, carefully erase the line.
  5. Use the punch to create a hole at the top of the hanger for the door lever.
  6. Cut decorative paper as needed using the Fiskars paper trimmer and Spellbinders dies in the Sizzix Big Shot. Using Permanent Glue Dots, secure layers. Use Pop Up Glue Dots to add dimension to the paper medallion. Mini Glue Dots work great with sequins and rhinestones.
  7. Add the candy bar or other treat and hang on the door as a surprise!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
