Teacher Appreciation Gifts - Keep Calm

Join our designers Jessica, Holly and Grace for a few quick and easy DIY Teacher Appreciation Gifts. Our third Teacher Appreciation Gift is by Designer Holly Gagnon.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Glue Line®
  • Micro Glue Dots®
  • Ultra-Thin Dots®
  • XL Glue Dots®
  • 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" Wood Plaque
  • ChalkStock paper
  • White cardstock
  • Green cardstock
  • Brown cardstock
  • School Days Ribbon from The Paper Studio
  • Red Button
  • Red spray paint
  • Candy stripe floss or twine
  • White gel pen
  • Die cutting machine
  • Sandpaper

Directions:

  1. Spray paint the wooden plaque red. When dry, use sand paper to randomly distress edges of plaque.Keep Calm and Teach On
  2. Measure and cut ChalkStock paper to fit on the front of the plaque and adhere to the edges of plaque using Glue Lines.
  3. Wrap School Days ribbon around top of plaque using Ultra-Thin Dots.
  4. Cut 3, 5" strips of School Days ribbon and adhere each strip into a loop using Ultra-Thin Dots.
  5. Assemble and adhere the 3 loops of ribbon on top of each other forming the a shape of a bow using XL Glue Dots.
  6. Thread red and white floss through a red button, trim out a green leaf from green cardstock and a brown stem from brown cardstock and create the button apple.
  7. Embellish green leaf with faux stitching using a white gel pen.
  8. Assemble and attach button apple to ribbon bow using XL Glue Dots.
  9. Cut words KEEP, CALM, TEACH, ON with die cutting machine at 1" height using white cardstock.
  10. Cut word AND with die cutting machine at 1/2" using white cardstock.
  11. Adhere words to plaque using Micro Glue Dots.
