Time: 15 minutes
Level: Moderate Handiness
Size: 4” by 2”
*Please note that when created, this project used Cricut machine Explore Series (or you could use a newer machine), as well as access to Cricut Design Space. But, that doesn't mean that you can't steal this idea and handcraft it on your own!
Here's what you need:
Here's what you do:
Open up Cricut Design Space. Using the design program, find a banner cupcake topper and resize it so that it is no larger than 8” in length. Add a mustache (or mustache/beard combo) image to the design, making sure to resize the image so that it fits well on the topper.
Send the design to the Cricut machine, cutting the topper on the yellow card stock and the mustache on the black card stock. Be sure to use the Cutting Mat when cutting and add the Cricut Scoring tool to the machine prior to cutting.
On the inside of the topper, apply Glue Dots® Craft Dots on one half.
Press the large tooth pick just inside the score line.
Fold the topper along the score line and press the two halves together, sandwiching the tooth pick in between the halves.
Place Craft Dots on the back side of the mustache.
Press the mustache on the topper.
Add the topper to Dad’s favorite cupcake!
Even though this craft uses the Cricut machine to create the topper, making the cupcakes can be a family event! Get the kids in on the fun of baking and designing the topper. One of the great things about being a Cricut owner is the ability to fully customize projects. If Dad isn’t into mustaches (or beards), find an alternative image in Cricut Design Space. The possibilities are endless!
