Made by: Amanda Tibbitts

Level: Moderate Handiness

Time: about 45 Minutes

Size: A2 Card

Materials:

  • Permanent GlueTape
  • Pop-Up Dots
  • Die cut eggs at 3.75” tall - 1 solid white, one white overlay and pink inlay pieces
  • Die cut flowers cut at 1.5” wide - 1 solid white, one white overlay, blue inlay pieces
  • Die cut leaves cut at 1.5” wide- 2 solid green, 2 green overlay, white inlay pieces
  • White craft foam
  • Quickstik or jewelry picker
  • Recollections cardstock in pink and white
  • Wink of Stella clear glitter brush Pen
  • White envelope
  • Tim Holtz “Things/Talk” acrylic stamp set
  • Acrylic block
  • Black ink
  • Baby wipe or stamp cleaner
  • Craft mat
  • Bone folder
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scissors

 Directions:
Using the Permanent GlueTape, add adhesive all over the solid white flower.

Glue the overlay piece directly over the solid white flower, lining up as best as you can. With the QuickStik, begin adding the blue inlay pieces to the remaining adhesive.

Follow this for the leaves as well. With the Wink of Stella brush, color over the top of the blue pieces to add a hint of sparkle. Set aside.

Using the craft foam, lay the solid egg piece front side up and cut out the shape with the scissors.

Cover the solid cardstock egg with the Permanent GlueTape and place the foam on top.

Add another layer of the tape runner across the entire surface of the foam egg. Place the white egg overlay directly on top and line up as well as you can.

With the pink inlay pieces, use the QuickStik (or a picking tool) and add them to the open adhesive, filling up the surface. Cover each pink piece with some Wink of Stella. Set aside.

With the paper trimmer, cut out a card base from the pink cardstock. It measures 4.25” x 8.5”. Also cut a mat from the white cardstock to 4” x 5.25”. Cut two pink .5” x 4” strips to be placed on the top and bottom of the white cardstock. On one of the ½” strips, stamp “Happy Easter” from the acrylic stamp set.

Once your sentiment is stamped and attached, use the GlueTape to assemble the rest of the card. Begin with the white 4” cardstock, add that to the pink card base. Add the plain pink strip and the pink sentiment strip on top of the white cardstock.

Run some more GlueTape all over the back of the egg and center it between the 2 half-inch strips.

Glue the leaves to the flower and attach the flower to the front of the egg with a couple of Pop-Up Dots - this gives it a little dimension.

This card is fun to put together because it has a puzzle-like vibe. Look through your dies and images to see what else you can make with this super fun inlay technique!
