MADE BY: AMANDA TIBBITTS   |   TIME: 45 MINUTES
LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE  |  SIZE: 2 1/2” by 2 1/2” by 1/4” box

Supplies:

Adhesive:

Materials:

  • Christmas/Winter inspired cardstock
  • Scraps of coordinating cardstock
        Ivory
        Glitter
        Red
        Green
  • Small Gift (Necklace and Earrings)
  • Gift Tissue
  • Tim Holtz Big Tidings Die Set
  • Distress Oxide Ink in Walnut Stain and applicator
  • Scratch Paper to work on
  • Craft Mat
  • Coordinating Twine

Tools:

  • Manual Die Cut Machine
  • 1-2-3 Punchboard from We R Makers
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Bone Folder (Comes with the Punchboard)
  • Reverse Tweezers
  • Scissors

Directions:

  1. Use the paper trimmer to trim down your Christmas card stock to a 5” by 5” square and use the instructions on the 1-2-3 Punchboard to help make the box. Set aside.
  2. With the manual die cut machine and the Big Tidings, cut the JOY and its shadow, and the holly leaves. You can cut the  leaves from the ivory color and save the middle parts to inlay to the green leaves.
  3. Run some Distress Oxide around the JOY shadow, and the little leaves and berry. If using the middles in ivory, add some to those as well.
  4. Use the Glue Dots® Squares to add a few to the sparkly JOY and glue it to the shadow.
  5. With the Glue Dots® Micro Dots, add three to the middle of the green leaves, face up. Use the reverse tweezers to help place the ivory pieces into the leaves.  Do the same for the berry with 2 Glue Dots® Micro Dots.
  6. Use a single Glue Dots® Square to add the leaves to the left side of the JOY.
  7. Add a Glue Dots® Square to the berry and place it by the leaves.
  8. Use some tissue to “wrap” your gift.  Use a few Glue Dots® Micro Dots to help the tissue stick. Tie some twine around it, and trim off the excess.
  9. Place your gift inside the box, and close it up.  It can be a little finicky, so be patient when trying to close it.
  10. Add a few Glue Dots® Squares to certain spots on the JOY so the recipient will be able to open the cute package.

Such a perfect little touch for the Holidays.  Change up the colors and the sentiment for a fun look!  Merry Christmas!
