Silhouette Watercolor

I love fun crafts that my kids enjoy making, but that I also love enough to hang on the wall, and today I have just that.

Here's what you need:

  • Craft Dots™
  • Die cut machine
  • Watercolors
  • White cardstock
  • Picture frame (optional)
  • Black cardstock

 Here's what you do:

Using your die cut machine, create your black cardstock silhouette shapes. We used a few different ones to fit my daughters' ages and interests. (For example, my middle daughter just learned to ride a bike, so she wanted a bike on her picture.)

Have your child use watercolors to paint different colors horizontally (like stripes) across the page. My three daughters were all able to do this. They are different in age and skill levels and I love how each piece of art turned out!

Using your Glue Dots, adhere your cardstock silhouettes onto the dried paintings.

(Optional: place in frame) Hang on the wall! I love how I see my children's confidence grows when they create their own works of art! An added bonus; this one is perfect to hang up in your home too!

Hi! I’m Robyn and blog over at Create it. Go! I live in beautiful Northwest Arkansas and love being outside. I’m a mom to five fun, crazy kiddos that I love, ranging in age from 16 down to 4. And I’m a wife to a man that I love laughing wtih! I love to create. I love papercrafting, working with wood, upcycles, repuposes, and DIY’s, crafting anything in general, trying out new recipes, sewing, photography, you name it! I also like to pick up a good book and ignore those dishes and laundry that never seem to go away. haha My life is never boring and can almost always use some re-balancing and simplifying. It’s not perfect, but I love it!
