I love using simple shapes and metallic colors to decorate for New Year’s Eve. These 3D stars can be made from any star shape you like. Made from a metallic or glitter card stock and they become the perfect background décor for a New Year’s celebration.
MADE BY: AMANDA TIBBITTS | TIME: 30 MINUTES
LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE | SIZE: 6"
Supplies:
- Glue Dots® Glue Lines
- Metallic or Glitter Card Stock
- Scoring Tool
- A way to cut stars (I used a Silhouette Cameo).
Directions:
- Cut 2 identical stars from metallic card stock. Any star shape will do, but you’ll need to add a tab to one side of each point before cutting.
- Score each tab and fold towards the wrong side.
- Score each star from the point to the center.
- Score each star from the V where the points meet to the center.
- Fold the score lines that go from the point to the center mountain style.
- Fold the score lines that go from the V to the center valley style.
- Put a Glue Line® on each tab.
- Place your 2 stars wrong sides together with the tabs facing in, and use the tabs to attach star 1 to star 2.
Glue Lines® are the perfect 1” strip of adhesive for this project.
Stars can be used as table décor. You can add string to the stars and hang them from the ceiling for room décor. Add candy to the inside of the stars before attaching them together in step 7 for fun party favors.
