I love using penguins to decorate with in the winter. They're perfect because they aren't just for Christmas, so you can keep them out all winter and into Valentines Day. Today I want to share this cute little penguin couple you can make from just some wood scraps or plaques you buy and a little paper.
Made by: Robyn
Time: 15 minutes
Level: Beginner
Size: Varies
Here's what you need:
- Permanent Glue Squares®
- Wood plaque or scraps
- DCWV Cardstock, Burlap, and Designer Paper
- Heart buttons
- Sharpie
- Scissors
Here's what you do:
Cut your Burlap per to fit onto your wood plaque to create a textured background and adhere together with Permanent Glue Squares.
Cut your simple penguin body shape, eyes and stomach (heart shape) and adhere layer with Permanent Glue Squares as well.
Use your buttons to add the feet and beak. Take the sharpie and draw in the black of the eyes.
Optional, add a hat or bow or other fun accessories to your penguin couple.
I adore this little penguin couple. They will be perfect just sitting on top of a little shelf or hanging from a ribbon on the wayll AND they can stay out all winter long! Happy Hearts Day!
Hi! I’m Robyn and blog over at Create it. Go! I live in beautiful Northwest Arkansas and love being outside. I’m a mom to five fun, crazy kiddos that I love, ranging in age from 16 down to 4. And I’m a wife to a man that I love laughing wtih! I love to create. I love papercrafting, working with wood, upcycles, repuposes, and DIY’s, crafting anything in general, trying out new recipes, sewing, photography, you name it! I also like to pick up a good book and ignore those dishes and laundry that never seem to go away. haha My life is never boring and can almost always use some re-balancing and simplifying. It’s not perfect, but I love it!
