Directions:

  1. Trace your wood circle onto the patterned paper that you want to cover it in. Cut out the circle and attach the paper circle to the wood base with All Purpose Dots®.

  2. Cut out the United States silhouette and the letters U, S, and A, from different pieces of patterned paper. I used a Silhouette Cameo and digital cut files, but any digital die cutting machine, manual die cutting machine, or stencils will work.

  3. Use All Purpose Dots® to attach the Letters “USA” to the United States silhouette.

  4. Cut multiple squares of similar size (they do not need to be exact) from the chipboard. Stack 3 chipboard squares on top of each other with All Purpose Glue Dots® and attach to the back side of the United States silhouette with All Purpose Glue Dots®. Repeat this process 2 – 3 more times. Attach stacks in the center and towards the edges of the United States silhouette.

  5. Place All Purpose Dots® only on the stacks of chipboard and attach to the wood circle sign base. The chipboard stacks will pop the United States silhouette up off the sign to give it more dimension.

Notes:

All Purpose Glue Dots® were chosen for this project because of their ability to stick to a variety of surface textures (wood, paper, chipboard), but Craft Glue Dots® would work well for this project, too.

This project was made from an 11” circle of wood, but you can scale this project to whatever size fits your space. You could also use a square base instead of a circle and get a very similar result.
