Why Glue Dots Adhesives Are Just Better – Part 2

Posted by GDI Industrial on February 11, 2015

In our previous blog, we made the case for why Glue Dots Brand Adhesives are superior to standard adhesive tape. This time around, we will compare and contrast our product with hot melt adhesive (HMA).

Part 2 - Glue Dots Brand Adhesives versus Hot Melt

Most of us know hot melt adhesive as hot glue. There is a good chance that most of you have had at least one bad experiences with hot glue guns. Operating a glue gun can be an experience that is both messy as well as dangerous. If you are unlucky enough to have experienced the latter, then you know how frustrating and painful it can be. When heated, HMA is hot enough to blister skin and is only tacky for a few seconds before it quickly hardens. So, not only is HMA inherently dangerous, it also demands a level of split second timing that can be hard to attain and replicate.

Glue Dots Brand Adhesives are everything that HMA is not. First, because Glue Dots brand adhesives rely on a cold bond, so they will never burn you. Glue Dots adhesives are incredibly flexible so that you have both tack and size options, as well as not being beholden to the quick hardening of HMA. Glue Dots adhesives are double-sided and preformed. Finally, Glue Dots adhesives make and leave behind none of the mess that is inherent with the hot melt process.

In the end, Glue Dots brand adhesives are safer, more effective, cleaner, and far more flexible than traditional hot melt adhesives.
