Create a three dimensional feature for a holiday greeting card that easily folds flat for mailing!
Here's what you need:
- Ultra Thin Glue Dots®
- DCWV Candy Cane Lane Stack
- Textured Green card stock
- two 4 inch pieces of 1/2 inch red, organdy ribbon
- Maya Road Super Star Pins, Gold
- White Card stock
- Memento Tuxedo Black ink
- green ink
- Sentiment from Pretty Cute Stamps "Oh Christmas Tree"
- Enamel dots (red) and pearl bling from the Eyelet Outlet
- Fiskars Paper Trimmer
- Scor Pal Score Board
- Spellbinders Labels One Nestabilities
- Sizzix Big Shot
- Sizzix eClips Electronic Die Cutter
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Daubers
Here's what you do:
- Choose a patterned paper out of the Candy Cand Lane stack from DCWV. Cut it down to 11 x 4.25 inches. Score at 5.5 inches along the long edge. Fold in half to create a card base.
- Use your electronic cutting machine to create 3 isosocles triangles out of textured green card stock. The base should be 2.25 and the height is 3.25 inches. Or, use a ruler and pencil to create them manually.
- Use the score board to score a line vertically down the center of each triangle.
- Use Ultra Thin Glue Dots, to adhere the three triangles together to form a 3D tree as pictured. Use a dauber and green ink to sponge the edges of the tree. This covers up any white edges and gives dimension and interest to your tree. Adhere the tree to the card front with Ultra-Thin Glue Dots.
- Slide in a star pin at the top of the tree. Tie the organdy ribbon around the pin. Decorate the tree using enamel dots and pearl bling.
- Use Momento ink and stamp the sentiment onto the white card stock, cut from a Spellbinders' Nestability.
- Cut a rectangle that measures 4.25 x 2 inches from the left over patterned paper. Use Ultra-Thin Glue Dots and secure it to the bottom edge of the inside of the card to add stablility and interest to the card.
Tip: When placing this card into a envelope, flatten the tree from the center fold.
