Looking for artwork to hang in your home that matches your own color preference, style, and mood? Avoid a gooey mess when creating personalized art work for your home by using products from Glue Dots.

Here's what you need:glue-dots-altered-canvas-painting

  • Stitch® Glue Squares
  • Mini Glue Dots®
  • 12" canvas
  • Americana acrylic paint
  • Vinyl
  • 12" scrapbook paper
  • Sequins
  • Rhinestones and Pearl blingglue-dots-altered-canvas-application
  • Sizzix eClips electronic cutting machine
  • Sponge brush
  • Paint palette
  • Transfer paper
  • Used gift card
  • Ruler

Here's what you do:

  1. Choose a 12" piece of  decorative scrapbook paper for your canvas. Select a coordinating color of acrylic paint for the edges of your 12" canvas or use a plastic paint palette to mix paint to achieve a desired color. Tip: Use a disposable wooden food pick to mix the paint. Then apply the paint along the edge of the canvas using a sponge brush and set aside to dry.
  2. Use your electronic cutting machine to create a phrase or slogan and cut it out of vinyl. Use transfer paper and a used gift card to apply it onto the 12" sheet of scrapbook paper.
  3. Apply Stitch Glue Squares around the back of the 12" scrapbook paper in two rows along each edge. Carefully place the paper onto the dried canvas.
  4. Gently smooth down the paper by starting from the center and working towards the edges.
  5. Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere sequins and other rhinestones or embellishments as desired.

As a scrapbooker, crafter or all-around pattern paper collector, there are those special papers you love that you set aside for the perfect project. Instead of using them for a paper project, why not put them on display by incorporating them into a home decor project like this? Add a saying with vinyl and you have the perfect home decor piece without all the fuss!
