Altered Gift Bag

Give your secret stash of gift bags an updated look with scrapbook paper and Glue Dots. Designer Grace shows you how!

Here is a quick and easy way to turn a plain-Jane gift bag into something spectacular and unique for the holidays.

Time: 30 minutes
Level: Beginner

Supplies:

• Ultra Thin Glue Dots®
• Pop Up Glue Dots®
• Mini Glue Dots®
• Plain green gift bag
• Twine
• Patterned paper
• Christmas themed stickers
• Buttons, rhinestones, gemstones
• Border punch
• Small stapler with staples

Instructions:

1. Measure the width of the bag and cut the patterned paper to the same width. Measure the length of the bag and add an additional 1 ½” more on the top and bottom of the length.
2. Using the border punch, punch a decorative border on the top and bottom of the paper.
3. String two pieces of twine across the bottom portion of the paper and adhere the ends to the paper with Mini Glue Dots. Add staple accents in an X over the ends of the twine and Mini Glue Dots.
4. Add a sentiment tag sticker using Pop Up Glue Dots and a the leaf sticker beside the tag using Mini Glue Dots.
5. Thread twine through red button and adhere to the top of the tag with Ultra Thin Glue Dots.
6. Add rhinestones and other embellishments to the top of the paper.
7. Adhere the embellished paper onto one side of the bag using Ultra Thin Glue Dots.
8. Cut out a piece of patterned paper that matches the original size of the embellished paper.
9. Add a punched border to both top and bottom edges and adhere the paper onto the back side of the bag with Ultra Thin Glue Dots.
