We love the idea of making Easter baskets from candy boxes, but we don't like how they look - all the different colors blending and clashing together doesn't look pretty.  So, we decided to make an Easter Candy Box Basket that's still quick and easy to make, but looks like a cute Easter bunny.  We used plain white printer paper, but you can also use brown kraft paper or an old paper grocery bag that's turned inside out.

Here’s what you need:

  • Glue Lines®
  • Permanent Glue Dots®
  • 5 Boxes of candyHow to make a last minute Easter Candy Box Basket
  • 5 Pieces of white printer paper
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Googly Eyes
  • A Button
  • Scissors
  • Easter grass or green crinkle paper
  • Eggs & Candy
  • Cotton ball (optional)

Here’s what you do:

  1. Wrap all of your boxes in white printer paper with Permanent Glue Dots.Last Minute Easter Basket
  2. Before you adhere your boxes together, arrange them so one box is on the bottom and the other four make up the sides making sure they all fit together nicely to make a complete basket.
  3. Assemble your basket starting with the box that will be base of the basket. Apply 1" Glue Lines along the top edges of the box and begin adhering the boxes together using 1" Glue Lines on the edges of the boxes where they meet.Last Minute Easter Basket
  4. Make bunny ears with pipe cleaners and adhere to the inside of the basket with 1" Glue Lines. Tip: to make the bunny ears more stiff, wrap an extra pipe cleaner around the arch. This will help keep them up. Note: The pipe cleaner bunny ears are to complete the look of the bunny and are not meant to be a handle for carrying - they are for decoration only.
  5. Last Minute Easter Candy Box BasketOn one side of the basket add googly eyes, pipe cleaners for whiskers and a button for a nose with Permanent Glue Dots. Optional: Add a cotton ball to the box opposite the face with Permanent Glue Dots to give your bunny a complete look.
  6. Fill your basket with green crinkle paper or Easter grass and goodies to complete your candy Easter basket!

We think he looks adorable and is definitely worth the extra effort!

Have a happy Easter!
