Welcome spring and that candy offering bunny with an Easter Egg Garland project that your children can help you create. Just think of the memories you'll make with them as you make and display this egg garland. It is easy to fold up and store until next year.

Tip: If you decide where you would like to hang your garland before you make it, you can adjust the length of the twine as needed.

Here's what you need:

Here's what you do:

  1. Using software for your electronic cutting machine, adjust the size of the egg shape so that it is 3 1/4" tall. For a 10 foot garland, cut out 66 eggs from your cardstock.Easter Egg Garland
  2. Tie a loop at one end of the waxed linen thread. You may want to use this to hang your garland when it is completed. Place Ultra-Thin Glue Dots as directed in the picture - one at the top, one at the bottom, two across where the thread will cross the egg. Be sure that you position the two Glue Dots where the linen thread will touch.
  3. Carefully place the second egg shape on top of the first. Tip: Since the Ultra-Thin Glue Dots will have a strong hold on paper, be sure to line up the edges of the eggs before pressing down. Eyeball the top and bottom of the egg before pressing the two papers together.Easter Egg Garland
  4. Continue to add eggs along the linen thread, leaving approximately 1 1/2" between each egg sandwich.
  5. Use the paper trimmer to cut the Oly*Fun into 17 ¾" x 12" strips. Cut each strip in half to form 34 smaller strips. Tie a strip of Oly*Fun in the space between each egg. Be sure to use a square knot so that it doesn’t slip off.Easter Egg Garland
  6. When you get to the end of the garland, add another loop to be used has a hanger. Hang this spring time garland along your mantle, stairway, or around your entry ways.

Tip: Coordinate the Oly*Fun ties with the colors of your cardstock. Do you prefer pastels or bold brights? DCWV and Oly*Fun have so many colors to choose from!
