Who doesn't love the look of fresh flowers in their house? I do! BUT I also love the idea of making some that won't die! haha! So today I wanted to share with you how I created a clean, bright, springtime feel with these DIY paper flowers that I made from crepe paper and tissue paper.Spring Paper Flowers

Here's what you need:

  • Craft Glue Dots®
  • Tissue Paper
  • Crepe paper
  • Wooden skewers
  • Glass bottles
  • Twine
  • Glass flat marbles (optional)
  • Scissors

Here's what you do:

  1. Take a wooden skewer and place a Craft Glue Dot at the very tip of it.Spring Paper Flowers
  2. Take your crepe paper and twist the end, placing that twisted part directly onto the Glue Dot on the skewer.
  3. Take the crepe paper and start to loosely twist it every now and then, as you also turn the skewer (so that you are twisting the crepe paper as you are also wrapping it around the skewer at the same time).
  4. Continue doing this, applying more Craft Glue Dots every couple of turns, so that the crepe paper stays put.Spring Paper Flowers
  5. Repeat until the rose (or the rose bud) is as large as you want it. Place Craft Glue Dots at the very end to secure it in place and at the very bottom of the rose to keep it from sliding down the skewer.
  6. Take green tissue paper and fold it like a fan 3-4 times. Cut each end in a point and twist the center. Apply with Craft Glue Dots to the bottom of each flower to add foliage.
  7. If you want the tissue paper flowers as well, fold tissue paper like a fan.
  8. Cut the ends to be rounded.Spring Paper Flowers
  9. Tie a string around the middle and separate and fluff.
  10. Adhere to the end of a wooden skewer with Craft Glue Dots and add foliage from step #6 above if desired.
  11. Last thing I did was to add some fun accents to the glass jars I used. I threw in some flat glass Spring Paper Flowersmarbles and some twine as well. The twine I either tied around the neck, or used more Craft Glue Dots to adhere it to the outside of the bottle.
  12. Find the perfect spot to display and enjoy the outside colors of spring inside your house!

I love the bright, fresh colors that this project adds to a room...whether as a table centerpiece, or on the coffee table, it brightens up any room, AND doesn't require me to remember to water them!
