Stay Organized with a School Themed Corkboard

Designer Donna shows you how to turn a boring corkboard into a great addition for your classroom or kid's homework station!

Every teacher's classroom or your kid's room should have a corkboard to display school projects or good grades!  Before you begin, all of the materials that were used for this project can be found at your local Hobby Lobby, so you only have to make one shopping trip! :-)

Here how you can create a cute corkboard for your kids homework station, work space or teacher's classroom.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Paint the frame of the corkboard to a bright color that matches decor. This will need a couple of coats. Set aside to dry.
  2. Paint the wooden push pins. Red, yellow and blue. (Using an old toilet paper roll, push pins into the roll and paint) Set aside and let dry.Painting Push Pins
  3. Adhere the wooden ruler to corkboard using Craft Glue Dots.
  4. Cut Aa-Bb-Cc and adhere to the corkboard using above the ruler with Micro Glue Dots.
  5. Choose a few stickers and adhere to corkboard using Ultra-Thin Glue Dots.
  6. Cut out winner ribbon, then again in shadow mode. Using white Signo Pigment ink pen print #1 Teacher (or #1 Student for your child).
  7. Adhere both winner ribbon cut outs together using Pop Up Glue Dots, then adhere to corkboard using Craft Glue Dots. Add an A+ Sticker on to the ribbon.
  8. Write a special note to your class or students on small piece of paper and add to corkboard using one of the painted push pins.  Don't forget to add the rest of push pins!

To make the cover of the sticky note pad:

  1. Cut the blue cardstock 3-1/4" X 8-1/2".1" Glue Lines for sticky pad holder
  2. Cut the pattern paper 3" X 6-7/16" and 3" X 1-1/2" (this last piece is for the flap).
  3. Score both papers, once at 3" then at 3 3/8", 6 1/2" and at 6 7/8".
  4. Adhere printed paper onto the solid cardstock using 1" Glue Lines.
  5. Fold and adhere sticky note pad with Craft Glue Dots to the inside of holder.
  6. Choose a sticker from the sticker pack and stick to cardstock leaving a small border. Using Ultra-Thin Glue Dots, adhere to another piece of cardstock and cut around leaving a small border. Attach to the flap of the cover.
  7. Cut one hook & loop in half. Adhere hook & loop, one to inside of flap and one to outside of note holder. This will hold flap down when not in use.
  8. Adhere the whole notepad holder to the upper right hand corner using Craft Glue Dots.

And you're done! Hang in your classroom or your kids room to keep track of homework, school progress or classroom accomplishments!
