Time: 20 Minutes
Level: Beginner
Size: The vellum shade is approximately 4 inches high. Size and height is determined by your wine glass.

Add a bit of mood lighting in your bedroom, a reading nook, or mantle. This simple project can be altered to fit the season or holiday and the colors of your home decor!glue-dots-wine-glass-tealight-supplies

Here's what you need:

Here's what you do:

  1. Print template on white card stock. Use scissors to cut out the template.
  2. Choose a piece of foil vellum from DCWV paper stack. On the BACK SIDE, lightly trace the template onto the vellum and cut out. Use a white eraser to gently erase stray pencil marks.
  3. On the FRONT SIDE of the vellum, line the upper and lower edge with Sitch Glue Squares. Add seam binding in a ruffled manner on both the top and bottom edge. Have some of your ribbon hang past the edge. This will help hide the seam when you close up the shade.glue-dots-wine-glass-tealight-finished
  4. Apply Stitch Glue Square along the FRONT SIDE of the tabbed side edge, between the dashed line and solid line. Circle the vellum around to create a shade.
  5. Place the shade on top of the wine glass. Turn on the battery operated tea light as the room darkens.

Tip: You may want to make a mock up of the shade in plain paper without embellishments to see how it "fits" on your wine glass. Adjust the template as needed to fit your wine glass and to achieve your desired look.
