What’s even better than a cute bag to put a Father’s Day gift in? A cute bag that you can make without any special tools or templates.
Made by: Samantha Taylor
Time: 15-20 minutes
Level: Quick and Easy
Here's what you need:
- Removable Dots™
- Craft Dots™
- 5” x 7” Printed Bag
- Patterned Paper
- Scissors
- Corner Rounder (Optional)
Here's what you do:
Traditional Tie
Cut a 4” x 4” piece of patterned paper. Place the paper, wrong side facing up and turn it so that it is in a diamond orientation. Fold a line from the top point to about ¾ of the left side (see photo). Use a Craft Dot to secure the fold in place.
Repeat step on the right hand side.
Cut a 1” x 1” square. Use a scissors or corner rounder to round the corners. Attach the square to the top of the front side of the the folded square with a Craft Dot. Now you have a tie.
Attach the tie to the printed bag with Craft Dots.
Add your gift to the bag and seal shut with a Removable Glue Dot.
Bowtie
Cut a 2” x 4” strip of patterned paper. Place the paper so it’s a landscape orientation.
Make a cut about ¾” long on the top side of the paper down towards the center. Make another ¾” cut on the bottom side of the paper up towards the center. Cut a diagonal line from each corner to the bottom of your ¾” cut lines, forming a triangle (see photo below). Repeat the same process on the other side, creating a bow shape.
Use a scissors or corner rounder to round the corners of your newly created bow-tie. Cut a ¾” x ¾” square and adhere it to the center of your bow-tie with a Craft Dot.
Attach the bow-tie to the printed bag with a Craft Dot. Add your gift to the bag and seal shut with a Removable Dot.
Your Father's Day gift is ready to go! These bags are a simple and fun way to celebrate Dad's special day.
