Everything is cuter in miniature, and these little wreaths are no exception. Just about anyone can create this inexpensive craft, because it can be easily customized for kids, beginners, or intermediate crafters.
MADE BY: SAMANTHA TAYLOR | TIME: 15 MINUTES
LEVEL: BEGINNER OR INTERMEDIATE | SIZE: 2"
Supplies:
- Glue Dots® Glue Lines
- Craft Glue Dots®
- Plastic Shower Curtain Rings
- Ribbon, Twine, Yarn, Bakers Twine (thin twine, pleated ribbons, or baker’s twine are more appropriate for intermediate level while thicker ribbons are great for kids and beginners).
- Scissors
- Optional: Christmas Ephemera or Embellishments
Directions:
- Make sure the shower curtain ring is closed.
- Place Glue Dots® Glue Lines around the outside edge of the ring.
- Starting at one end of the ring, wrap the ribbon or twine around the ring, making sure the twine is pushed snuggly together leaving no gaps.
Intermediate crafters can hold 2 or 3 differently colored pieces of twine together while wrapping to create a striped wreath. - Use a Craft Glue Dot® to secure the finished end of the ribbon to the wreath.
- Tie a piece of ribbon or twine onto the wreath to use as a hanger.
- Use Craft Glue Dots® to attach decorations like a bow, chipboard embellishments, or ephemera.
You can use Glue Dots® Glue Squares in the place of Craft Glue Dots® for this project.
Experiment with different types of ribbon and twine. I tried a satin pleated ribbon that just didn’t work, but the pleated cotton ribbon used in the example looked great.
Use the wreaths as Christmas ornaments, holiday décor, or add them to wrapped presents for an extra personal touch.
