Vintage Salt & Pepper Shaker Repair

Here is a quick tip for you! When the glue behind face plates and mirrors dries up and cracks off over the years, you can salvage those vintage items easily with Glue Dots® Advanced Strength (super-strength, permanent bond) Double-sided Sheets.

Here's what you need:

Here's what you do:

Cut Advanced Strength Double-sided sheets with sharp scissors to the width of the face plate that has fallen off.  Be sure to leave the small tab area so you can peel off the adhesive.

Clean off any reside of the old glue. Peel back one layer of the plastic sheet and lay the face plate onto the adhesive. Next, peel back the 2nd layer of plastic. Cut the adhesive sheet at the end of the face plate.

Carefully press the face plate onto the side of the object.

Tip: Cut off just the adhesive, not the plastic cover sheets. This will make it easier for you to use the extra adhesive on your next repair object.

With Glue Dots and a few short minutes, you will have repaired cherished items and keep sakes around your home!
